Fernando Torres returns to Atlético de Madrid after the deal agreed between AC Milan and the Red-and-white Spanish Club where Torres grew up as football player since he was 12 years old. Torres played for Atlético as skipper until his transfer to Liverpool in July 2007.

The international striker will play on loan for the remainder of this season and all of next season. Signing with our Club is subject to the relevant medical examination that the player must undergo to join the team. The loan will be official on the 5th of January, day on which the winter transfer window opens in Italy.

The forward from Fuenlabrada thus returns to his home, where he trained as a player and became one of its biggest stars. In 2001, at the age of 17, he debuted with Atlético’s shirt in the Second Division and despite his young age, he made it into the first team where he would play for the next six seasons, becoming captain, playing a total of 244 games in which he scored 91 goals.
