Dani Ceballos, Kepa and Mikel Merino called-up for Spain U-21 squad

The Spain Under-21s squad for next month?s fixtures has been named by head coachAlbert Celades. Dani Ceballos (Real Betis), Kepa (Athletic Club) and Mikel Merino (BVB Dortmund) are among players selected. For Mikel Merino it means his first U-21 call-up after his successful career in youth categories.

 

Spain go into the new term on top of Group 6 with four games to go. The squad will meet at the Ciudad del Fútbol facilities on Monday 29 August before they travel to Castellon ahead of Thursday's game with San Marino.

 

A 20-man group will travel to Malmö for the competition next week, which will see Spain face Sweden on Monday 5 September.

Defenders: Jonathan Castro Otto "Jonny" (RC Celta de Vigo), Alejandro Grimaldo García (SL Benfica), Jorge Meré Pérez (R. Sporting de Gijón SAD), Diego González Polanco (Sevilla FC), Héctor Bellerín Moruno (Arsenal FC), José Luis Gayà Peña (Valencia CF).

Midfielders: Mikel Merino Zazón (Borussia Dortmund), Sergi Samper Montaña (FC Barcelona), Saúl Ñíguez Esclápez (Club Atlético de Madrid), Óliver Torres Muñoz (Club Atlético de Madrid), Daniel Ceballos Fernández (Real Betis), Iñaki Williams Dannis (Athletic Club), Denis Suárez Fernández (FC Barcelona).
