Spain booked their place at next year's European Championships with a dramatic 1-1 draw against Sweden at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, as Rodrigo Moreno netted a late leveller to ensure La Roja secured a point.Jess Navas (Sevilla) and Kepa Arrizabalaga (Chelsea) contributed to the draw with a final stage performance as they were call to action replacing David De Gea (60?) and Carvajal (81?).

Sweden gathered some momentum towards the end of the first half after an opening 35 minutes dominated by Spain. And the home side continued with that momentum going into the second half, opening the scoring in the 50th minute through Berg, who tipped a header in from one yard after David de Gea (who had to come off around the hour mark with a groin injury) did all he could to make a double save to deny the initial close range attempts from Berg and Forsberg.

Spain naturally found their way back into control, creating a number of chances, but couldn’t find a way past Swedish keeper Olsen.

La Roja had scored in 37 consecutive games before this tie and just when it looked like that impressive streak was coming to an end, substitute Rodrigo Moreno stepped up to guide the ball in from point black range with his shin, capitalising on a decent low strike from Fabian on the right towards the far post.

The 1-1 draw leaves Spain on top of Group F and five points clear of second-placed Sweden, who will now battle for the second automatic qualifying place with Romania.
